Broken Glasses: How to Make a Repair Enquiry

Templeman Opticians Essex · Updated 20 October 2026

Describe the problem

Tell the practice whether an arm, hinge, screw, lens or the frame is affected, and whether the glasses can still be used. Keep the glasses and any loose parts together for the practice to assess.

Include the arrangements, not private records

Give the town, whether the wearer is at home or in a care home, and the best contact for arranging the next step. A photo may help explain the damage if the practice asks for one; it does not confirm that a particular repair is possible.

Confirm what can be done and when

The existing service describes an emergency repair response. Ask the practice to confirm current availability, the repair or replacement options and any charges for the specific pair. Do not treat a website enquiry as a booked repair visit.

For care home teams

Use the contact route agreed with the practice and explain whether the repair relates to an existing contract. Check what is included, how collection or a visit will be arranged and who will receive the update.
