NHS Home Eye Test Eligibility
Find out if you or a loved one qualifies for a free NHS-funded home eye test in Essex.
Two conditions must be met
- You qualify for an NHS-funded sight test. Examples include being aged 60 or over, under 16, aged 16–18 in full-time education, registered as blind or partially sighted, or diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma. Certain benefits and valid NHS help-with-health-costs certificates can also qualify. See the NHS guidance for the full conditions.
- You qualify for a mobile sight test. For a visit at home or a residential care home, you must be unable to leave unaccompanied because of physical or mental illness or disability. Living in a care home alone does not establish entitlement. The NHS also describes separate conditions for visits at a day centre.
